Enjoy your July 4th Weekend Happy Independence Day 2016

Did you know ...

Although we celebrate America's Independence Day July 4, it was actually July 2, 1776 when the Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence — thus formally casting off British rule. July 4th was the date everybody signed that resolution we call the Declaration of Independence.

Coincidentally, the only two signers of the Declaration, who also became President of the United States, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, died on July 4, 1826 – 50 years later. Adams was 41, and Jefferson 33, when they signed the Declaration. Remarkable, visionary men.

Enjoy your barbecues — keep little ones and pets safe from grills and fireworks — and celebrate the wonderful country we are all proud and fortunate to be a part of.
