Interior Design - Finishes: Floor Tiles

 THE BASICS

Floor tiles are usually ceramic or made from a natural material, such as stone or slate. Natural material tiles are usually square or rectangular in shape, and ceramic tiles come in a variety of shapes.

MAINTENANCE

Hard tiles can easily be kept looking good with warm water and a mild detergent. However, porous tiles such as terracotta, quarry and encaustic need to be sealed to prevent from staining.

NATURAL FLOOR TILES

Terracotta, Granite, Limestone, Sandstone, Marble, Slate, Quarry. These tiles offer a wide range of colors, patterns, and textures so no two tiles will ever be alike.

CERAMIC FLOOR TILES

These tiles resist water and most stains but can be cold and slippery.

BE CREATIVE

Lay a border with different tiles, lay tiles at an angle, use mosaics,
create a pattern in the floor, place inserts in the tiles,
or create something new.

As always, I appreciate referrals from my friends and past clients. If you know of anyone who is looking to buy or sell real estate,
please send them my way!
